Short film
Between 1964 and 1994, France carried out 193 nuclear tests in Polynesia. The territory underwent rapid modernisation and the economy flourished. But as the years went by, the consequences of the atomic fallout began to show. Cancers multiplied and the end of the tests weakened Tahitian society. The images filmed by army operators take on a new meaning, revealing the tragedy that is still being played out on these islands.
