Selected for the Berlin festival, it will be screened there as a preview in the "Perpektive Deutsches Kino" section before being presented in Châlons-en-Champagne at the eleventh edition of WoS.

Synopsis: It is the last day of carnival at a favela in Rio de Janeiro, where gunshot sounds are incessant and the military presence is constant. Demétria is waiting for Cora, her only child, to come back home from school, but in the meantime a surprise police raid commences outside. As night falls and she struggles to hold on to the fading hopes of finding her daughter, Demétria will be visited by three characters – The Policeman, The Pastor and The Governor –, all of whom play different parts in a never-ending war.

J'AVAIS UN CAMARADE
WINNING PROJECT FROM WoS FABRIQUE 2019

The first film that was finished thanks to the support of the WoS Fabrique writing residency, J'avais un camarade, directed by Janloup Bernard and produced by Hugo Tomes and Eliott Khayat (Mauvaise Troupe) had its premiere at the 9th edition of the Festival. It has since carried on its path through film festivals, and was selected at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival and the Poitiers Film Festival.

Summary: Upon his arrival at a prestigious military school, Woyzeck, the son of an officer, meets Reda, a student from a modest family with whom he is to share his room. As they are initiated into the school through “rites”, the two boys try to find their place in a virile world ruled by strict codes.
