WoS Fabrique

As part of the War on Screen Film Festival, WoS Fabrique is a support programme for the screenwriting, producing, and directing of fiction films dedicated to the representation of conflicts. WoS thereby aims to contribute, at the international level, to the emergence of a new generation of screenwriters, producers, and directors drawn to a theme that, now more than ever, pervades our society.

WoS Fabrique intends to present war from as many angles as possible, and to better understand its causes, consequences and human motives.

Participants are free to explore all film genres (science fiction, espionage, melodrama, comedy etc.). The fictional plot should take place in a contemporary or future timeframe, either during, before or after a war, as soon as the conflict conditions the behaviour of the characters.

At the end of a residency, divided into two sessions during which the young talents are assisted by a member of the film industry who offers them professional advice on script development, the participants submit their projects. Five laureates are then selected and awarded with a grant to help them bring their film projects to fruition.

WoS Fabrique joins forces with five European institutions: the Fémis in France (2019), the Filmuniversität Babelsberg Konrad Wolf in Germany (2019), the Lodz Film School in Poland (2020), the ECAM in Spain (2021) and the UNATC in Romania (2022).

The WoS Fabrique programme is supported by the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Armed Forces, the Grand-Est Region, the Department of Marne, Châlons Agglo and the City of Châlons-en-Champagne.
