The Nile Hilton incident
Tarik Saleh
1h50
Cairo, January 2011, a few days before the revolution began. A young singer is murdered in a room at one of the city’s grand hotels. Noureddine, the surly inspector in charge of the investigation, realises as his enquiries progress that the culprits may well be linked to President Mubarak’s personal security detail.
Combining elements of film noir with a documentary-style approach, Tarik Saleh captures the final moments of an Egypt being eaten away from within by corruption.
