TJ Ballantyne, the owner of the pub The Old Oak in a small village in the Northeast of England, befriends Yara, a young migrant who is passionate about photography. Together, they develop a soup kitchen for the needy, despite the tensions caused by the arrival of Syrian refugees in the village.
