David Frenkel

Born in Creteil, David Frenkel learnt his trade at Why Not Productions before founding Synecdoche in 2010. Producer for Claude Lanzmann, with whom he has worked closely for over 17 years, he produced The Last of the Unjust - screened at the Cannes Festival in 2013 - and Shoah: Four Sisters. He is currently producing Lucas Belvaux’s adaptation of The Wound, the novel by Laurent Mauvignier, which portrays the lives of former conscripts to the Algerian War. He also produced Lucas Belvaux’s previous film, Chez nous. He edits and distributes books on cinema, including Conversations avec Darius Khondji.
