CONFERENCE AEGES "DOES FICTION INFLUENCE REALITY?"
Led by Olivier Chopin
AEGES is an independent and interdisciplinary platform which contributes to the development of scientific research, and to the recognition and promotion of the study of war and strategy at French universities. It also aims to strengthen links between academia (in particular the new generation of researchers) and other stakeholders. AEGES brings together more than 130 researchers from different backgrounds and a variety of disciplines, enabling it to undertake the analysis of conflicts from a number of perspectives.
This year’s new collaboration is based on the synergy between AEGES’ scientific approach and the more artistic approach of War on Screen.
Here researchers will discuss the effects and influences of cinema’s representation of war on their perception of conflict and on their work.
The conference brings together four researchers and is led by Olivier Chopin, a member of the board of directors of AEGES, researcher, education expert and director of studies at Sciences Po – Reims Campus.
Rebecca Mignot-Mahdavi, PhD in Law, European University Institute of Florence / Sciences Po, specialist in the military use of drones;
Edouard Jolly, PhD in Philosophy, Researcher at the Strategic Research Institute at the École Militaire (Ministry of Defence), specialist in the theory of armed conflict;
René-Eric Dagorne, Agrégé in Geography, specialist in Geopolitics and teacher at Sciences Po;
Pauline Blistène, PhD in Philosophy at Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne, who is preparing a thesis on portrayals of secrecy and clandestine action;
