POITIERS FILM FESTIVAL
INTERNATIONAL MEETINGS FOR FILM-MAKING SCHOOLS
39th edition / Friday 25th November – Friday 2nd December
For eight days in Poitiers, young talent, professionals and the general public take part in a creative buzz: previews, screenings of short films and feature films, debates, master classes, cine-sandwich, Piou-piou screenings for children, parties…
This year’s focus is on Danish cinema, known for breaking the ice of the genre’s conventions and rigid customs. Marking the 50th anniversary of the Danske Filmskole and the 30th anniversary of La Fémis, two major European film schools, an original programme is on offer to help young talent access the work market: Jump In.
But the Poitiers Film Festival is above all about discovering world and future cinema. Films made in film schools are rare, free from the constraints of the market: melting pots of desires, of a past and a future, they bear witness to the way a generation sees the world.
