PUBLIC READING OF "FANTASY/CRIME" SHORT FILMS

rendition of residency SO FILM MAGAZINE/THE CNC/CANAL+/THE GRAND EST REGION

In partnership with So Film magazine, the CNC, Canal+ and the Grand Est Region

Eight original crime and fantasy film screenplays have been written by young French filmmakers and scriptwriters during the 'So Film de genre Grand Est’ residencies. On Friday 5th October at La Comete they will be read by Melvil Poupaud and Chloé Mons, set to music and accompanied by images. After the reading, the short film Acide by Just Philippot will be screened.

melvil poupaud 

Melvil Poupaud is a french actor born in 1973. Revealed by Raoul Ruiz who he considers to be his mentor and with whom he shot 12 films, he interpreted roles for great french filmmakers such as Jacques Doillon, Benoît Jacquot, Eric Rohmer, François Ozon, Arnaud Desplechin, Justin Triet, and Eva Ionesco. He also shot films in the United States under the direction of James Ivory, Zoe cassavetes, the Wachowski sisters or Angelina Jolie and in Canda for Xavier Dolan. He also is a musician (currently on tour with Benjamin Biolay) and a writer : he published two books : Quel est mon nom? (Stock) et Voyage à Film City (Pauvert).



chloé mons 

Born in 1972, she studied at the drama academy and obtained a master in Cinema before acting for the big screen and recording "Le Cantique des cantiques" in 2002. In 2006 she published "La Ballade de Calamity Jane", an album that she defines as a "sound film". In 2011 she recorded a new album "Walking" which has tribal and blues influences. The following year, she publishes Let Go, a book she defines as a grief journal. She occasionally directs journey diary. In 2016, she participates in Alain Lingler's theatrical adventure Je n'ai rien contre le réveillon. The same year, her 8th album "Alectrona" comes out. In 2017, she collaborates to several drama projects.


the musicians 



olaf hund

French-German author, composer, performer, and producer, Olaf Hund imposed himself on the electro stage since the end of the 90's. Multi instrument musician, he made himself known in 1999 as an hybridity pioneer and a creator of new universes.
His label Musiques hybides celebrates its 20th birthday in 2016 (Alexis HK, Louise Vertigo, JB Wizz, Black Landlord, Nicolas Police…). He has collaborated with artists like eaches, Gonzales, Taraf de Haïdouk, Diane Tell or Tony Allen, composed for contemporary circus and dance (Philippe Decouflé, Circo Aereo), haute couture (Jean-Paul Gaultier) and cinéma (Fabianny Deschamps).
 

The illustrators 



céline delabre 

Born in 1980 in Nice, she pursued arts studies twenty years later : first fine arts in Sète, then at the European School of visual arts in Angoulême and finally at HEAR. There she draws, scultps, creates installation, before training in engraving and imprinting. What she wants ? Invent images, write stories, make books. She now lives and works in Strasbourg. Her 4th album will be out in the beginning of this october and more projects are to come !

 

laura kientzler 

She lives and works in Strasbourg as an author and illustrator in a workshop-hut close to an island. She collaborates with all kinds of clients on various projects (press, poster, edition...). Since 2013, she creates screen printing fabrics and other illustrated objects under the name of La Petite Jungle.
